NorthBet NFL Betting Online - Week 3 Parlay

Posted by Jackson Anthony on 10/5/2010 5:39:33 PM

Alright, so after getting screwed by the Cowboys last week, I’m going for a hefty three-team parlay in my NFL betting online picks this week.

1. Arizona Cardinals Cover Against Oakland Raiders

Lest we forget, the Cardinals offense still includes Larry Fitzgerald, Steve Breaston, Tim Hightower, and a now-healthy Beanie Wells. The fact that they play against the 26th-ranked defense in Oakland this week is just a bonus.

The only upside that the Raiders have coming into this week is the emergence of 23-year-old running back Darren McFadden who has already totaled 240 rushing yards in his past two games.

But don’t expect McFadden to find the end zone that easy. The former number one draft pick for the Raiders has only scored 5 touchdowns in his 3-year career, and none so far this season.

NorthBet NFL Betting Tips: Oakland hasn’t won two consecutive games since claiming victories in the final two games of the 2008 season.

2. Green Bay Packers Over Chicago Bears

Now let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves and predict that Jay Cutler will be a top quarterback this season now that Mike Martz is at the helm.

I truly believe that Jay Cutler’s above average performance thus far in 2010 is mostly due to good fortune. His first game this season was against the Detroit Lions, a team that ranked 32nd against the pass in 2009. In Week 2, Cutler dismantled a Cowboys secondary that probably isn’t much better than Detroit right now.

Cutler has a tough test in front of him, playing against the Green Bay Packers, one of the most solid and opportunistic defenses in the NFL (30 interceptions last year).

The Packers run defense, a unit that ranked first in the league a season ago, should limit Matt Forte’s numbers this Sunday, the same way they constrained Buffalo’s three-headed backfield to only 124 combined rushing yards last week.

The Packers offense on the other hand, will score plenty of points. Aaron Rodgers has thrown four touchdowns so far, to three different receivers. Rodgers has too many weapons for the Bears to contain.

3. Detroit Lions Cover Against Minnesota Vikings

In his first two games, Brett Favre has completed less than 59% of his passes, thrown a single touchdown, four interceptions, and is off to an 0-2 start.

Lions rookie running back Jahvid Best is turning heads with his performance thus far in his first professional season. In just two games, he has scored four rushing touchdowns, caught 14 passes for 170 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown.

Combine Best with Calvin “Megatron” Johnson and all of a sudden the Lions have the potential to be the second-best offense in the NFC North bet division.

Even if the Vikings do win this game, they sure as hell won’t cover the 11.5 spread.
