NFL Lines - The New Green Bay Packers Dynasty

Posted by Ashley Carmichael on 8/20/2011 12:51:25 PM

his time last NFL lines year, the Green Bay Packers were a headliner for a Super Bowl berth.

However as the season progressed people quickly hopped off that short bandwagon. Due to early season injuries and speculation of not even making the playoffs, by week six the Packers were out of the discussion at 3-3.

Missing starters like running back Ryan Grant and tight end Jermichael Finley, people doubted Aaron Rodgers ability to lead his team.  According to NFL Lines the Packers won seven of their last ten games.

While Aaron Rodgers was limited on options he still almost threw for 4,000 yards in 2010.  Rodgers also earned a passer rating of 101.2 last year, putting him third amongst all NFL Lines quarterbacks.

Furthermore there were a few holes on the defensive side, with Nick Barnett sidelined the entire season and rookie Morgan Burnett.  In his sophomore year Burnett has stepped up and earned a starting role in the Packers secondary.

With Charles Woodson, Tramon Williams, Sam Shields and Nick Collins all coming back the Packers defense is aging like wine.

NFL Lines states that Jermichael Finley is back and ready fro this season.  He is a big target at 6’5’’, 247 pounds, big enough to threaten defenses opening up the field for Aaron Rodgers to find options.

Also Ryan Grant is back to full health; therefore expect to see a more productive rushing season for Green Bay. Adding in James Starks to the rushing tandem, Green Bay can finally establish a run based offense.

Furthermore, Green Bay had a pretty strong draft. Derek Sherrod, a left tackle out of Mississippi State will ensure Rodgers’ protection.  And it must have felt like Christmas for Aaron Rodgers when the Packers drafted wide receiver Randall Cobb from Kentucky.
Cobb runs a 4.4 forty-yard dash and plays similar to Wes Welker.

Look out NFL lines, the Green Bay Packers are on the verge of being a dynasty.
