Breakdown of the marquee NFL lines injuries going into week 2.

NFL Lines – To Win Super Bowl XLVI
Green Bay Packers 500
New England Patriots 500
Philadelphia Eagles 600

Pittsburgh Steelers: Willie Colon, Steelers’ starting right tackle, was recently placed on the injured reserve and will miss the rest of this NFL lines season. The 28-year old is currently recovering from a surgery that he underwent to repair a torn right triceps – which he recently suffered during last Sunday’s shock loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
Willie Colon and Pittsburgh are really out of luck, as this is the second consecutive year in which the lineman’s season has been cut short. Last year, the 6’6”, 330-lbs tackle ruptured his Achilles tendon during training camp.

The Steelers certainly will miss his large presence this NFL lines season, especially if last Sunday was any indication of how the team will continue to perform.

In response to this unfortunate turn of events, the Steelers wasted little time in signing veteran Jamon Meredith. Meredith, something of a journeyman, played five games for three teams last year. He last played in New York with the Giants.

San Diego Chargers: Chargers recently transferred place kicker Nate Kaeding to the Injured Reserve list after he tore ligaments in his knee. The injury occurred on his first play of the NFL lines season while trying to tackle Minnesota’s Percy Harvin during the Chargers’ opening game against the Vikings last Sunday.

After tearing his ACL, doctors have ruled out any possibility of Kaeding returning at any point during this season. The Charges reacted by signing kicker Nick Novak to a two-year contract.

Atlanta Falcons: Atlanta’ defensive tackle Jonathan Babineaux will miss the next three to five weeks due to a tear in his MCL. Babineaux’s injury was inflicted during his team’s loss to the Chicago Bears. The Falcons are now put in a vulnerable situation, as other veteran tackle Corey Peters is also currently unavailable due to a knee injury.

Cleveland Browns: In his NFL debut this past weekend, the Browns’ punter Richmond McGee injured his back during the pre-game warm-ups. The Browns have signed punter Brad Maynard, who played the last ten NFL Lines seasons with the Chicago Bears, and spent this past off-season with the Houston Texans before being placed on waivers.

Nielson Notice: Most of the teams that have sustained injuries seem to have addressed their misfortunes, and should not really undergo any negative transformation when they adjust to their replacements. Perhaps the team who will miss their injured player the most will be Pittsburgh – whose defense certainly looks like they could use all the help they can get right now.
