NFL LINES - Jets Should Put Up or Shut Up

Rex Ryan and the New York Jets are yet again talking trash despite being 4-3.

NorthBet Numbers: The New York Jets are 3-4 ATS this season.

As everybody in the NFL already knows, Rex Ryan and the New York Jets talk – by far – the most trash talk in the NFL.

Over the past three NFL lines seasons, we have continuously heard the Rex Ryan’s Jets would win the Super Bowl – but is has never happened (in fact, they have never even made it to the Super Bowl under Ryan’s reign). He ridiculed his brother Rob (who was a defensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns at the time) prior to their Week 10 matchup last season, and just managed to beat the Browns in overtime.

He and his squad have publicly insulted Tom Brady and the New England Patriots an innumerous amount of times over recent years, yet the Jets have lost three of their past four regular season matchups with New England – including a 45-3 whopping in December last year. This obviously includes Darrelle Revis calling Patriots receiver Randy Moss a ‘slouch’ before their faceoff last September – a game in which Moss burned Revis for a 34-yard touchdown catch that left Revis with a ‘hamstring injury’ and Rex Ryan cursing on the sidelines.

Most recently, however, Ryan insulted San Diego Chargers head coach Norv Turner by saying that had he been given Turner’s job a few years ago, he would have already led the Chargers to a couple of Super Bowl rings. Norv Turner then returned the favor by asking Ryan where all of his promised rings were.

Now although the Jets did end up beating San Diego 27-21 this past Sunday, it has not proven enough to back up all of their smack talk since Rex Ryan has become their head coach. The Jets are now only an average 4-3, sitting below the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills in the AFC East. So, it is about time that they put up or shut up; stop talking trash altogether or at least win the AFC East for the first time since 1998.
