NFL lines - Don’t Bet On These Teams In Week 2

Posted by Brett Nielson on 9/18/2011 12:14:16 PM

Vick runs wild in Atlanta. Bills start 2-0. Chargers dominated as 7-point underdogs. These will be the marquee headlines when after today’s NFL lines week 2 matchups.

Eagles vs Falcons
This is a game that many NFL lines fans have been looking forward to for a long time, with Michael Vick finally returning to Atlanta as a starting quarterback. Vick will be taking on Matt Ryan and the Falcons, who will be looking to bounce back after a Week 1 loss.

Vick and LeSean McCoy rushed for over 200 yards last week against the Rams, so look for them to do some major damage in Atlanta. The Falcons gave up 110 yards on the ground last week to the Chicago Bears but the more telling statistics was the 7.9 yards per rush that the Bears averaged.

With Vick and McCoy both a threat to run, the Falcons defense may surrender over 200 yards rushing this weekend – a recipe for defeat.

NFL lines Prediction: Philadelphia 38, Atlanta 17

Raiders vs Bills

The Raiders and Bills are two teams who will be looking to bounce back and make the playoffs this season. The Bills won a big game on the road last weekend, defeating the Kansas City Chiefs, holding the Chiefs` to only 213 total yards of offense. The question is whether the Bills can repeat that masterpiece of a defensive performance against the Raiders this weekend.

The Raiders won their opening game against the Broncos 23-20, which was Hue Jackson`s first win as Oakland head coach. Starting running back Darren McFadden was the catalyze for the Raiders offense, amassing 150 yards on the ground.

However, this game come down to a quarterback duel between Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and Raiders signal caller Jason Cambpell. Expect Fitzpatrick to lead his Bills to a victory in a close contest.

NFL Lines Prediction :  Buffalo 27, Oakland 24

Chargers vs Patriots

This matchup is a fantasy football dream. A mouthwatering  matchup between two of the NFL`s most potent offenses, the Patriots are coming off  a Week 1 victory in which Brady passed for over 500 yards. New England’s defense didn’t fair that much better, surrendering 488 yards against Chad Henee and the Miami Dolphins.

Meanwhile, the Chargers ` defense only gave up 187 yards of total offense in a 24-17 win over the Minnesota Vikings. San Diego `s offense wasn`t too shabby either, with Philip Rivers throwing for over 350 yards and two touchdowns.

Nevertheless, Bill Belichick is one of the league`s best coaches, if not the best, and he does not have any shortage of talent on this Patriots team.

I wouldn`t bet on Rivers improving  his current 1-4 record against New England.

NFL Lines Prediction : San Diego 24, New England 41
