Minnesota Vikings rookie quarterback Christian Ponder can make an immediate impact on a slumping NFL lines franchise.

2010-11 Season
Minnesota Vikings vs. NFL: 6-10
Minnesota Vikings vs. NFC North: 1-5

NorthBet Numbers: Minnesota Vikings were 5-11 ATS this season.
Christian Ponder was drafted 12th overall in the 2011 NFL Lines Draft by the Minnesota Vikings and seems to have all the tools and the right circumstances needed to make an instant impact in the NFL – as well as a successful career.

Ponder is a quarterback of tremendous skill, as demonstrated by his collegiate credentials. During his years at Florida State, he managed to complete 61.76 percent of his passing attempts while throwing nearly 7,000 yards and 50 touchdowns. He also ended this season with an astounding 135.7 passer rating. Because of his great performance, he won the 2011 Senior Bowl MVP Award, the 2011 James Tatum Award, and was the 2010 Jonny Unitas Golden Arm Award Finalist. These awards are testament Ponder’s athleticism as well as his skills as a quarterback and team leader.

Christian Ponder has been described as a strong decision maker, and has an excellent understanding of the game. As well as his physical attributes and skills as a quarterback, he is also an intelligent young man. He did graduated form Florida State with a 3.73 GPA, which shows his determination and drive to succeed. In addition, Ponder is coming from an offensive team style of play in Florida State, and this should only aid in his transition to becoming a successful NFL lines quarterback.

Putting his individual attributes aside, Ponder will also be joining a Minnesota team that will have a substantial amount of skill and depth with which to surround the rookie quarterback. Though with free agency the Vikings may lose some good players, they may add some as well. This would then be in addition to the solid cast they already have in Minnesota, including Adrian Peterson, Sidney Rice, Percy Harvin and Visanthe Shiancoe.

Furthermore, he will be immediately given the starting job in Minnesota, which could severely improve his in-game confidence as well as allowing him to properly grow through experience.
