NFL Expert Picks – Stay Away From The Cowardly Lions

Posted by Ashley Carmichael on 11/23/2010 1:24:50 PM

With starting quarterback Mathew Stafford sidelined for the Detroit Lions, one of my featured NFL game picks this week is in favor of the explosive New England Patriots on Thanksgiving Day.

New England Patriots (8-2) At Detroit Lions (2-8)

NFL Game Picks
New England -6.5
Detroit +6.5
Total 51

The (8-2) New England Patriots have been firing on all cylinders as of late and they will be hungry for the end zone on Turkey Day.

The Patriots are averaging 28.9 points per game this year (first in the NFL) and let’s just say the Lions defense is hardly one of the elite units in the NFL game picks league. New England should reach the end zone more than Ndamukong Suh will reach for buttered rolls at the dinner table on Thanksgiving.

The prolific passing offense of quarterback Tom Brady and the Patriots will open-up the Lions defense allowing tailback Ben-Jarvus Green-Ellis - who has 9 touchdowns in his last 8 games – with ample running room.

Coming off an important win against the Indianapolis Colts, New England will be relieved to face one of the worst teams in the NFC.

With Shaun Hill controlling Detroit’s offense and a banged up backfield, the Lions won’t have many options to help sustain drives.

NFL experts pick the Patriots to roll over the Detroit Lions.
