NFL Betting Week 4 NFC North Bet – Jay Cutler vs. Eli Manning

Posted by Marcello Messina on 10/5/2010 5:26:06 PM

Simply put, whoever makes fewer mistakes this NFL betting Sunday between Cutler and Manning, wins the game.

(3-0) Chicago Bears at (1-2) New York Giants
Live from New Meadowlands Stadium – New Jersey
Kickoff: 8:30 PM EST Sunday, October 3, 2010
Broadcast: NBC

NorthBet NFL Game Odds:
Chicago Bears +3.5
New York Giants -3.5
Total 43.5

The deciding factors in this week's NFL betting matchup between the Chicago Bears and New York Giants are their quarterbacks.

Jay Cutler has thus far been able to limit his interceptions to less than one per game, which is the main reason for Chicago's undefeated record to date.

Cutler threw three interceptions last week against the Packers; two of which were not called because of defensive holding and pass interference calls. One of the two reversed interceptions was on the last drive of the game and would have given the Packers the ball with 2 minutes left and the game tied at 17.

The Bears only have a 25% chance of winning whenever Jay Cutler throws more than one interception. However, whenever Cutler throws less than two picks, the Bears become a 62% favorite.

Although the Giants are currently struggling with their defensive secondary, they did read Carolina's Matt Moore well enough to pick him off 3 times in Week 1 this NFL betting season.

The Giants pass rushers have executed, combining for a total of 6 sacks so far this season.

Eli Manning, on the other hand, is having a tough start to the year, throwing for 6 interceptions and only 5 touchdowns.

The Giants only have a 42% chance of winning when Manning throws three or more interceptions. But if Eli pitches 2 or less picks, New York suddenly retains a 69% chance of winning the game.

Eli should have plenty of time in the pocket to spot an open receiver with Chicago's weak pass rushers (2 sacks in their past three games combined).
He will therefore limit his interceptions against a weak Chicago secondary, giving his team the victory and avoiding three consecutive NFL betting defeats

NFL Betting Matchup: Bet on the New York Giants (-3.5).
