NFL Betting Online: New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills

Posted by Marcello Messina on 10/5/2010 5:24:24 PM

Number one of the top 5 things I learned about the AFC last week was the fact that the Buffalo Bills are probably the worst team in the NFL.

(2-1) New York Jets at (0-3) Buffalo Bills
Live from Ralph Wilson Stadium – New York
Kickoff: 1:00 PM EST Sunday, October 3, 2010
Broadcast: CBS

NorthBet NFL Game Odds:
New York Jets -6
Buffalo Bills +6
Total 36.5

The Bills hardly possess any valuable offensive weapons whatsoever.

Their quarterback Trent Edwards was recently released, giving Ryan Fitzpatrick (who has a career passer rating of 68.6) the starting job.

None of their running backs have rushed for 80 yards in a game this NFL betting season. Fred Jackson is the only player on the roster to have scored a running touchdown so far this season.

Their number one wide receiver Lee Evans has totaled only 88 receiving yards in his previous three games while catching no touchdowns. Bottom line: the Buffalo Bills are a complete mess.

The true deciding factors in this matchup will be Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez and running back LaDainian Tomlinson.

Sanchez has silenced all critics with his recent performances against AFC East divisional rivals, the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins.

In Week 2 versus the Pats, he threw three touchdowns, completed 70% of his passing attempts for 220 yards and finished the game with a 124.3 passer rating.

Last week against the Dolphins, Sanchez tossed for 3 touchdowns, 256 pass yards and completed the game with a 120.5 passer rating.

He should be able to easily exploit Buffalo’s weak secondary, which has already given up 5 touchdowns through the air, including 3 to Tom Brady last week.

LaDainian Tomlinson, who was recently acquired from the San Diego Chargers, looks like he is playing with a chip on his shoulder.

Tomlinson is averaging just below 70 rushing yards per game, sharing rushing duties with Shonn Greene. Even with fewer carries, Tomlinson is proving to be quite effective, ranking 7th in the NFL in yards per carry (5.6).

Look for him to tear up Buffalo’s putrid run defense that has already given up 423 yards this season.

NFL Betting Online: Bet on the New York Jets (-6).
