Okay, so the Minnesota Vikings are 2-0 since interim head coach Leslie Frazier took over, but keep in mind their opponents have a combined NFL betting lines record of 8-18.

With the recent collapse of the Vikings stadium, the firing of head coach Brad Childress, and injuries to starting quarterback Brett Favre, the cards haven’t really been falling in Minnesota’s favor.

Leslie Frazier, defensive coordinator for the Vikings, was promoted to head coach after Childress’ departure in Week 11 and, against all odds, has propelled his team to two consecutive victories.

Al-be-it against the Redskins (5-8) and Bills (3-10), the Vikings look like a much different team than the one that was destroyed 31-3 by the Green Bay Packers in Childress’ final NFL betting lines game.

The New York Giants, meanwhile, are attempting to avoid their notorious late-season collapse and keep pace with the Eagles (9-4) in the NFC East.

After dropping two consecutive division games in weeks 10 and 11, I was concerned the Giants would crumble in December.

However, a 31-7 victory over the Redskins last weekend, in which the Giants forced six turnovers, was huge for New York’s confidence.

Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs combined for 197 yards and four touchdowns on the ground and the Giants defense returned to form.

New York’s intimidating pass rush has accounted for 35 sacks (2nd in the NFL) and catalyzed a league-leading 17 fumble recoveries.

With Tarvaris Jackson receiving his first start of the year under center for the Vikings, the Giants will undoubtedly be bringing the heat. Numbers: In his five years as a pro, Jackson has accounted for 28 total touchdowns, 21 interceptions, and 14 fumbles.

The Vikings best shot will be to try and control the game with all-pro running back Adrian Peterson. The Giants, however will probably stack the box and force Jackson to try and beat them.

This would be trouble for the Vikings in Detroit.
