Unbelievable. That’s the one word I can use to describe the Cincinnati Bengals’ NFL betting lines season. The Bengals are coming off a 10-6 NFL betting lines season - their best record since 2005.

To alleviate the attention that opposing defenses were giving wide receiver Chad Ochocinco, the Bengals signed free agent wideout Terrell Owens during the offseason.

Ochocinco was greatly in favor of this acquisition and undoubtedly persuaded Cincinnati head coach Marvin Lewis to put in an offer for one of Chad’s close friends.

Since being signed by the Bengals, Owens has racked up 961 receiving yards and nine touchdowns in 12 games (5th-most in the NFL) and is on track for nearly 1,300 yards this NFL betting lines season.

Truly emerging as Carson Palmer’s favorite target, Owens has already been targeted a whopping 133 times (third in the NFL), catching 71 of those balls.

Plus, Owens is once again considered a lethal deep threat, coming down with 14 catches for more than 20 yards, while averaging 13.5 yards per reception.

However, as unlikely as it would have seemed at the start of the NFL betting lines season, Owens is the only productive player on the Bengals’ roster.

6-time Pro Bowl selection Chad Ochocinco has scored less than half of T.O’s touchdowns while averaging just 60.3 receiving yards per game (29th in the league).

At the same time, Carson Palmer has thrown 15 interceptions this season (1.25 per game, 4th-most in the league), while scoring just 5 more touchdowns.
Cincinnati’s running game has also been put to a halt. Running back Cedric Benson is averaging a mere 3.5 yards per carry, scoring just 6 touchdowns on the ground this NFL betting lines season.

Cincinnati will add-on to their nine-game losing streak against Pittsburgh this weekend.

The Steelers are first overall against the run, giving up just 62 yards per game and four touchdowns this year.

Additionally, their fierce pass rush (36 sacks to date, 1st in the NFL) should pressure Carson Palmer early and often, enough to make him hesitate whenever he steps back to throw.

Brett’s Prediction: Pittsburgh Steelers: 17 Cincinnati Bengals: 3

Nielson Notice: The Cincinnati Bengals have not won an NFL matchup since September.

NFL Betting Lines: Pittsburgh Steelers -9
