In one swift NFL betting lines month, the San Diego Chargers went from completely out of the playoff picture to contending for the top spot in the AFC West. Prior to Halloween, the Chargers were 2-5 and third in the AFC West.

With their top wide receivers Vincent Jackson (holdout), Malcolm Floyd (hamstring injury) and Legedu Naanee (hamstring injury) inactive for the majority of the first half of this NFL betting lines season, the Chargers playoff hopes seemed all but ruined.

However, through the leadership of two-time Pro Bowl quarterback Phillip Rivers, San Diego revived its season, and is now near full recovery.

Even without his three most reliable wideouts, Rivers has found a way to average over 250 passing yards per game starting with his Week 8 NFL betting lines matchup against the Titans.

Additionally, the 7-year-pro has thrown for a remarkable 13 touchdowns in the past six weeks (averaging 2.17 per game) and hasn’t thrown more than one interception in a contest during that time span.

Fortunately for the Chargers, they can now utilize all of their leading receivers with the exception of tight end Antonio Gates, who has been plagued by a plantar fasciitis tear in his foot.

The best thing for San Diego though, is that they now face the 49ers – a team that has given up an average of 227 passing yards per game (20th in the NFL).

Expect Rivers and Co. to pick apart the 49ers on this week’s NFL betting lines Thursday Night Football.

Marcello’s Prediction: San Diego Chargers: 24 San Francisco 49ers: 10

Messina Mention: The Chargers have won by at least eight points in each of their home victories this season.

NFL Betting Lines Pick: San Diego Chargers -9
