NFL Betting Lines – Saints Double Digit Favorites Against Seahawks

This year’s NFL betting lines season was crazy to say the least. The Seahawks, at 7-9, made the playoffs not as a Wild Card, but as a division champion and will host the New Orleans Saints this weekend.

NFL Betting Lines
New Orleans -10.5
Seattle +10.5
Total 44.5

With a 16-6 win over St. Louis in Week 17, the Seahawks clinched their first NFC West division title since 2007 and remarkably made the playoffs with a record below .500.

Seattle has defeated just two teams with winning records all year – the Chicago Bears and San Diego Chargers – and has the worst point differential, by far, of any team that made the playoffs.

The Denver Broncos (4-12), Buffalo Bills (4-12), Arizona Cardinals (5-11), and Carolina Panthers (2-14) are the only NFL betting lines teams with a worse point spread – all of which finished last in their divisions.

When you rank 31st in rushing offense and your defense surrenders an average of 368.5 yards a game (27th in the NFL) you normally don’t make the playoffs.

Head Coach Pete Carroll should have fun creating a game plan to try and stop last year’s Super Bowl MVP - Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

Brees had another productive season, throwing for over 4,300 yards and 25 touchdowns for the fifth consecutive year, but he did have some accuracy issues.

The 5-time pro bowler threw 22 interceptions this season, the highest total of his career and second most in the NFL in 2011 behind Eli Manning.

Fortunately for Brees, the Seahawks had just 12 interceptions all year – 25th in the league.

New Orleans will bounce back in a big way from their 23-13 loss against Tampa Bay in Week 17 and cover the 10.5-point NFL betting lines spread.
