NFL Betting Lines – NFL Owners Walk Out

This past Wednesday, NFL owners reportedly walked out of a meeting with the NFL Player’s Association (NFLPA), further extending doubts that there will be professional football in 2011-12.

Steelers +900

The owners’ departure during Wednesday’s meeting came immediately after a proposal from the NFLPA that players should earn 50 percent of “all revenue” in the restructuring of the league’s Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

The NFL owners also cancelled a five-hour negotiation session that was scheduled for Thursday. This marks a $2 billion dollar difference from the 50 percent of “total revenue” that the players were making in the previous CBA.

It appears as though the NFL and its players are nowhere near reaching an agreement for the new CBA.

If the league’s owners and players cannot come to an agreement by March 4th, the old CBA will expire and the players could strike – meaning no NFL next betting lines season.
The New England Patriots (+600) are early 6 to 1 favorites to win Super Bowl 46, followed by the Packers (+650) and Steelers (+900).

If there’s football next year, expect the Packers to make a run for a repeat championship.

Aaron Rodgers is just entering his prime and the return of LB Nick Barnett, TE Jermichael  Finley, and RB Ryan Grant from season-ending injuries will make Green Bay one of the deepest teams in NFL betting lines.
