Following a 31-6 demolishing of the Buccaneers, the Saints are loaded with momentum as they travel home to face the Cleveland Browns, one of the NFL’s weakest teams.

Prior to last week’s victory, New Orleans appeared to have lost some of that Super Bowl spark from last year. The highest-scoring offense in 2009 is averaging 12 points per game less than this season.

When New Orleans lost running backs Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush a few weeks ago, the Saints offense started to depend almost solely on their passing attack.

Quarterback Drew Brees led the league with 34 touchdowns last North Bet season and it has been difficult to keep defenses honest without any sort of threat in the backfield.

Previous to last week, Brees was averaging 282 passing yards and 1.8 touchdowns per game. While those numbers aren’t too shabby, last year he threw 293 passing yards and 2.125 touchdowns per game.

New Orleans running back Chris Ivory seems to have made things better for the ‘struggling’ Saints offense, after emerging as the most productive back in New Orleans. Last week, Ivory averaged 10.5 yards per carry and rushed for 158 yards in the Saints 31-6 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brees was also dominant against Tampa Bay, throwing for 263 yards and 3 touchdowns. He should have similar success this week at home versus the Browns.

Cleveland is 0-3 when playing away, while scoring an average of less than 14 points while giving up 23 points in those games.

Brees should have a field day this North Bet Sunday, facing the NFL’s 23rd-ranked pass defense, a unit that has already surrendered 11 touchdowns through the air.

AFC North Bet Pick: New Orleans Saints (-13).
