AFC North Bet – Baltimore Ravens Host Buffalo Bills

Posted by Marcello Messina on 10/20/2010 10:19:41 AM

The Ravens were dealt their toughest loss of the season, losing 23-20 in overtime last week against New England. Here are the top 3 reasons they will bounce back this North Bet Sunday and crush the (0-5) Buffalo Bills.

(0-5) Buffalo Bills at (4-2) Baltimore Ravens
Live from M&T Bank Stadium – Baltimore, MD
Kickoff: 1:00 PM EST Sunday, October 24, 2010
Broadcast: CBS

NorthBet NFL Game Odds:
Buffalo Bills +13
Baltimore Ravens -13
Total 37.5

1. Ray Rice

For the second year in a row, Baltimore running back Ray Rice is performing as a top-10 rusher in the NFL.

Running behind one of the league’s most fearsome offensive lines, Rice has averaged over 75 rushing yards per game and a touchdown every other week. Last week against the Patriots (18th in the NFL against the run), Rice ran for 88 yards on 28 carries and accumulated 8 receptions (season-high) for 38 yards.

Rice’s soft hands make him an excellent receiving threat out of the backfield. Last North bet season he had 78 receptions for 702 yards, ranking first amongst running backs.

Rice should have a field day this week against the woeful Bills. Buffalo ranks last in overall run defense, giving up more than 180 ground yards per game. They have also allowed 7 rushing touchdowns so far this North Bet season, the highest in the NFL.

2. Buffalo’s Pass Rush

Whenever Joe Flacco is given time in the pocket, he delivers.

Buffalo has only sacked opposing quarterbacks eight times in five games, the second-lowest total in the NFL this season. As a result of their defensive line’s lackluster performance, opposing quarterbacks have been given ample time in the pocket.

The Bills defensive unit has recorded just one interception this North Bet season.

Expect the Bills defensive to continue performing poorly this week against Baltimore’s offensive line, a unit that has only permitted eight sacks this year.

3. Ryan Fitzpatrick

Buffalo has averaged less than 145 yards passing per game. After releasing their starting quarterback Trent Edwards a few weeks ago, Ryan Fitzpatrick has taken over and has hardly been an upgrade.

Baltimore’s defense is surrendering just 175 pass yards per game while giving up just four scores through the air.

AFC North Bet Pick: Baltimore Ravens (-13).
