Week 15 NFL Betting Picks – Eight Games Of Major Consequence

Posted by Matthew Forrester on 12/18/2015 3:47:04 PM

On the last weekend before Christmas, I’ve unwrapped my Week 15 NFL betting picks for you to enjoy. Just don’t bother leaving me milk and cookies under the tree. I’m more of a whisky and turkey sandwich kind of guy. Happy holidays to all, let’s hope Santa brings us some cheer from the football gods this weekend.

New York Jets -3.5 over DALLAS COWBOYS

Saturday, December 19th --- 8:25pm EST

The Saturday night special is nothing to worry about. Dallas has made it a habit to keep things close, but completely imploded against the Packers last weekend. There’s just no reason for this team to keep trying, and the wear and tear on the defense has been too much. The underappreciated Jets do one thing consistently this season: beat up bad teams. New York is 5-2 ATS when playing against losing teams, and 5-2-1 ATS when travelling.

Chicago Bears +5.5 over MINNESOTA VIKINGS

Sunday, December 20th --- 1pm EST

Minnesota looks flat out terrible lately. They almost beat Arizona on the road, but the clumsiness in Minnesota’s game plan is a terrifying trend. They’re just 2-2 ATS in their last 4 games, and are notoriously rough around the edges later in the season. Historically, the Vikings are just 5-12-1 ATS in their last 18 games in Week 15. The Bears feel like a terrible play in this matchup, but they’re also 5-0 ATS when playing on the road. This line is generous enough to warrant a play on Cutler travelling in Week 15 NFL betting picks as Minnesota continues to inch closer to their doom. Take the points.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS -3.0 over Atlanta Falcons

Sunday, December 20th --- 1pm EST

Basically, everybody over the Atlanta Falcons, who are spiraling down so hard that you have to wonder if the team bus is even going to bother pulling in to the parking lot. Jacksonville is a “guns blazing” type team that won’t stop playing for four quarters. Of course, they have the nasty habit of playing up and down to their competition, but Atlanta’s 1-4 ATS record in December, their 0-5 ATS record in their last 5 road games and their 0-9 ATS record in their last 9 overall, make them absolutely untouchable. Hopefully this team gets a new general manager from Santa Claus.

NEW YORK GIANTS +4.5 over Carolina Panthers

Sunday, December 20th --- 1pm EST

The Panthers have been virtually automatic, but injuries to Jonathan Stewart and one of their starting cornerbacks makes Carolina a lukewarm play on the road in frigid weather. I know that the Giants have a brutal defense, but things have improved since Jason Pierre-Paul returned. Besides, if any team loves to spoil an undefeated party, it’s the Giants who will fight tooth and nail to keep this one close and buoy their playoff hopes. Carolina can do a lot to burn the clock and nurse a lead, but I wouldn’t count the Giants out from stealing the cover, especially with a home field advantage.

WASHINGTON REDSKINS +1.5 over Buffalo Bills

Sunday, December 20th --- 1pm EST

If there’s any team more disrespected in the sportsbook than the Redskins, I haven’t seen one. Washington has been a strong home play despite losses a loss to Dallas two weeks ago at FedEx Field. Plus, the Bills are an awful 1-3-1 ATS when travelling. Everything about Buffalo is trending down as the moody Rex Ryan is losing his way with a team that has nothing left to play for. Bank on the Redskins in your own Week 15 NFL betting picks.

Green Bay Packers -3.0 over OAKLAND RAIDERS

Sunday, December 20th --- 4:05pm EST

The Raiders completely victimized a clueless Osweiler last weekend, but weren’t able to really do anything offensively. That’s been the story of the last month for Oakland, who have averaged just 17.2 points per game in their last 5 efforts, making them a wary choice in Week 15 NFL betting picks. The Packers are starting to hit their stride thanks to some insane fortune two weeks ago, and still need to win out to steal the division from Minnesota. They’ve shifted their offensive game plan, and Oakland will be scrambling to keep up.

PITTSBURGH STEELERS -6.5 over Denver Broncos

Sunday, December 20th --- 4:25pm EST

As I alluded to, Brock Osweiler is not the savior of Denver. The Broncos have been a mess all season on the offensive end, and have averaged just 19.0 points with Osweiler under center. Their top ranked defense makes them a tempting play, but the streaking Steelers are bombing teams left, right and center 35.2 points per game average in their last 5. Eventually, the Broncos defense is going to lose its legs and grow frustrated with Osweiler’s shortcomings. Steer clear of the Broncos at all costs, with or without Peyton Manning.

Arizona Cardinals -3.5 over PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Sunday, December 20th --- 8:30pm EST

If you’re wondering why the line is so low, it’s because Arizona might not exactly feel like they have much to play for with the bye week essentially in their grasp. The Eagles have also been on a two week tear with wins over Buffalo and New England, scoring from all sorts of angles. The major problem? Philly has gained traction due to special teams plays and turnover-touchdowns. Arizona is allergic to making fatal mistakes, and are getting a team that is just 1-7-1 ATS when playing at home against a team with a winning record. The Cardinals are an automatic bet in Week 15 NFL betting picks, especially as a late night chaser.
