Total             196.5

After scoring 38 points against the Los Angeles Lakers, in just his third career NBA start, New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin is already recognized as one of the best Asian players ever.

Lin, an undrafted graduate of Harvard, was almost released by the Knicks prior to his 25-point breakout performance on February 4, 2012 against the New Jersey Nets.

Since that game, Lin has followed up by scoring 28, 23, and 38 points, for an unprecedented 89 points over his first 3 NBA starts (the most ever since the merger in 1976).

Not to mention, Lin has been doing this against some of the best point guards in the league: Deron Williams (Nets), John Wall (Wizards), and Derek Fisher (Lakers).

Retired center, Yao Ming is without a doubt the greatest Asian basketball player ever, but his career was cut short by nagging injuries. Yao was an All-Star 8 out of 9 NBA odds seasons and averaged 19 points and 9.2 rebounds per game in his 9 years as an NBA pro.

Lin has a ways to go to prove that his current run is not simply the result of being on a hot streak but for now, the young point guard’s success is the best story in the NBA.

Lin will face off with another impressive young point guard tonight, Ricky Rubio.
