NBA Lines - Steal of the 2011 Draft

Posted by Ashley Carmichael on 7/12/2011 9:39:51 AM

With the 25th NBA lines overall pick, the Boston Celtics selected Marshon Brooks from Providence.

Shortly after being drafted to Boston, the Celtics traded Brooks the New Jersey Nets.  Despite being one of the last picks in the first round, Brooks has the potential to become a star in NBA Lines.

Brooks was a fourth year senior at Providence where he averaged 24.6 points and 7 rebounds per game.  Furthermore, Brooks was led the Big East in scoring his senior year.  Brooks is a 6’5’’ 200 pound slashing guard who has range for days.  He is acrobatic and can finish in traffic.  Brooks has a smooth jumper along with a quick release, ready for the NBA Lines.

Marshon Brooks surprised everyone with his 52-point game late in the season against Notre Dame.  Shooting 20 of 28 from the field and 6 of 10 from the arc Brooks was outstanding, proving that he is NBA ready.  This accomplishment marks the fifth time in 15 years where a player has scored 50 points in a single division 1 game.

The Big East is the most decorated conference in the NCAA, no one just goes out there and drops 52… no one.  Brooks set the new Big East single game scoring record that night.  Brooks managed to have a 43-point game just a week before as well against Georgetown.

Marshon Brooks is pairing up with one the NBA Lines beast point guards in Deron Williams.  These two will be a dynamic duo; both can score, defend and create plays.
