NBA Lines - South Beach Dream Becoming A Nightmare?

Posted by Ashley Carmichael on 11/24/2010 3:39:52 PM

So much for breaking the all-time NBA lines winning record of 72-10: with six losses already, the Miami Heat can only suffer three more defeats to eclipse the Chicago Bulls single season wins record.

Miami Heat (8-6) vs. Orlando Magic (9-4)

NBA Lines
Miami Heat +4.5
Orlando Magic -4.5
Total 186.5

The Heat suffered a huge blow when Udonis Haslem was declared out for the season with a torn Lisfranc ligament in his left foot. Haslem and Dwyane Wade were the only remaining players left from Miami’s 2006 championship team.

Who will step up in the Heat’s frontcourt to guard Dwight Howard on Wednesday night? Haslem was Miami’s best match-up with his size and athleticism.  Howard is much too fast for 7 foot 3 inch Zydrunas Ilgauskas and too strong for 6 foot 9 inch Joel Anthony.

Howard should have a huge day on the glass probably out-rebounding Miami single handedly. What was once was a dream come true for Miami, has quickly turned into chaos.  With Chris Bosh struggling, Miami is clearly lacking a low-post presence.

Maybe the Heat could go snatch Alonzo Mourning out of retirement.  I’m sure they could get more post production out of the 40-year-old Mourning.

This in-state rivalry could possibly become a blowout seeing how timid and immature Miami has been playing. NBA lines show that the all-star packed Miami Heat are averaging an astounding 13.1 turnovers per game, 4 by two-time MVP Lebron James.

The Magic are capable of converting turnovers into points very quickly and efficiently.  Orlando will be victorious if Miami doesn’t take care of the ball.

With Orlando demanding first place in the Southeast division, the Heat are already beginning to fall behind.  With a division victory over Miami, Orlando will establish their dominance in the NBA lines Eastern Conference.

NBA Lines Pick – Magic (-4.5)
