On the eve of the Orlando Magic’s four game road trip, center Dwight Howard, point guard Jameer Nelson, forward Mickael Pietrus, and guard J.J. Redick have all recovered from a stomach virus which caused each of them to miss NBA lines time.

Portland +2.5

This Thursday night, NBA bettors will see two teams that are on complete different ends of the health spectrum.  Orlando is back at full health after two starters and two key players in their rotation went down with the flu.

Portland meanwhile, has been banged up.  Sure all their starters are in the line-up, but lately Brandon Roy has been limping along with a chronic knee problem. Roy recently announced that he is past his athletic prime, due to his weak knees.

An all-star just an NBA lines season ago, Roy is averaging 18.2 points per game – his lowest output since his rookie season in 2006. Portland has been forced to look elsewhere for points, which has been difficult for a team that has centralized its offense around Roy.

To make matters worse, Orlando has allowed only 90.1 points per game this year, which leads the NBA Lines in total defense.  With Dwight Howard’s return to the lineup, Portland’s power forwards Marcus Camby and LaMarcus Aldridge will be neutralized.

Howard ranks third in the NBA with 12.1 rebounds per game and fourth in the league in blocks with 2.42 a night.

In his first game back from the flu, Howard grabbed 13 boards and put up 14 points.

Expect to see bigger numbers this Thursday in Portland as Howard will surely start the Magic’s road trip off with a win.
