NBA Lines: A Quiet Thunder Threatens The West

Posted by Ashley Carmichael on 4/15/2011 9:13:21 AM

With the stage set, the Oklahoma City Thunder will play the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

NBA Lines
Denver +5.5
Oklahoma -5.5
Total 200.5

This is the most exciting matchup in the West, as both teams are in the top five of NBA Lines in scoring this year.

Denver’s late surge in the season, winning 18 of 25, proved to the NBA that the Nuggets don’t need Carmelo Anthony.  Denver still has the most efficient offense in NBA Lines, averaging 107.1 point each contest.

Since trading all-star Carmelo Anthony, Denver has six players averaging over 10 points per game.  With so much depth it’s going to be hard to contain the Nuggets in the post season.

However, the Oklahoma City Thunder has not been fazed by Denver’s recent activity.  The Thunder beat the Nuggets twice in the past two weeks.  The Thunder first snapped a six game winning streak for Denver, and then blew them out by 15 three nights later.

The Oklahoma City Thunder present matchup problems for everyone; with the large athletic guard play of Russell Westbrook and the prolific scoring of Kevin Durant.

Furthermore the post is filled by the beast-like Kendrick Perkins, who plays so angry he makes Ron Artest look like Steve Blake.

The Thunder have the essential pieces to come out of the West and play for an NBA Lines Championship.
