NBA Betting Odds - Christmas Day Picks

Posted by Jackson Anthony on 12/27/2011 9:44:05 PM

The NBA betting odds season commences on Christmas Day and we've got our first lineup of 2011-12 NBA picks ready.

Boston Celtics vs. New York Knicks

The Knicks finally have the frontcourt to compete in the East. With Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudemire, and Tyson Chandler in the starting lineup, the aging Celtics won't be getting any easy points in the paint.

Coming off a sensational rookie year, Knicks shooting guard, Landry Fields will be a difficult matchup for the Celtics.

Fields shot almost 50% from the field last year and was an excellent rebounder, averaging 6.4 boards per game.

If the Knicks can handle Rajon Rondo's penetration without committing more than 2 defenders, than the Celtics will be in trouble.

Pick - New York Knicks

Miami Heat vs. Dallas Mavericks
2:30 PM EST

Lamar Odom will make his Mavericks debut and will have the tall order of trying to stop LeBron James. We'll see how the Reality TV star and former Laker gels with the former NBA champs.

With a year under their belt, James, Wade, Bosh and the Heat are the favorites to win the 2011-12 NBA Championship.

Pick - Miami Heat

Chicago Bulls vs. Los Angeles Lakers
5:00 PM EST

Kobe Bryant is expected to play despite a wrist injury and with Bryant in the lineup, the Lakers have been lights out in home openers. In fact, Los Angeles has not lost a home opener since 2005.

Pick - Los Angeles Lakers

Orlando Magic vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
8:00 PM EST

The Magic are just happy that Dwight Howard didn't go anywhere in the offseason. After trade rumors were swirling, Howard was pulled off the free agent market on December 15 by the Magic.

This is a good move for the franchise, now if they can just figure out how to win in the postseason.

Pick - Orlando Magic

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Golden State Warriors
10:30 PM EST

The Clippers are going to be amazing to watch this season. Chris Paul and Chauncey Billups feeding Blake Griffin is just not fair. Griffin will be a beast in 2012 and should produce an MVP-type season.

If the Clippers can stay away from injuries, they should make a run to win their first conference title ever.

Pick - Los Angeles Clippers
