Soccer Lines – Chelsea Parts Ways With Ancelotti

The Chelsea Blues have announced that Carlo Ancelotti is no longer their soccer lines squad manager.

Northbet Numbers: Chelsea Blues were 3-7 O/U 2.5 this season.

The Premier League’s dominant team, Chelsea, fired their manager Carlo Ancelotti this past Sunday.

Though Ancelotti did lead Chelsea toward many accomplishments (like winning the Double for the first time in the team’s history) during his two reigning years, he is responsible for the club’s downfall late this season.

With fans expecting this year to be the one in which Chelsea would win – or at least contend – for all tournament cups, things turned ugly late in he year when their 51-year-old manager made some poor decisions.

In January, Ancelotti needlessly signed Fernando Torres and David Luiz, who barely ended up gelling with the rest of the squad members. This lack of chemistry cost the team and exit from the FA Cup and the Champions League, while forcing the Blues to finish just second place in the Premier League.

The firing came after Chelsea lost 1-0 to Everton in their final match of the season. The club released a public statement on Sunday, declaring their decision to part ways with their manager.

“… this season’s performances have fallen short of expectations and the club feels the time is right to make this change ahead of next season’s preparations… Chelsea’s long-term football objectives and ambitions remain unchanged and we will now be concentrating all our efforts on identifying a new manager.”

Since the statement, rumors and speculations have been flying around that Turkish manager Guus Hiddink, Porto coach Andre Villas-boas, and Real manager Jose Mourinho are all in the running to replace Ancelotti.
