Reports were flying early on Monday November 15 - the same day Washington hosts the Eagles - that Washington would be issuing their starting quarterback a $78 million contract extension. The contract includes $40 million guaranteed, and could go up to $88 million if all the incentives are met.
Donovan McNabb sat out the final drive of the Redskins last game due to what head coach Mike Shanahan claimed were “endurance issues.”
However, his benching appeared to cause no issues between McNabb and the Washington Redskins, as they have both agreed on this massive contract. The 33-year-old quarterback says that despite being benched in the final two minutes of his last game, he remains, “happy to be a Redskin.”
