Dallas Mavericks -1
Portland Trailblazers +1
The Portland Trail Blazers are looking to solidify a playoff spot with a victory this NBA lines Tuesday.
The win, however will be a hard earn, as they are facing off with the Western Conference’s second-seed, the (47-19) Dallas Mavericks.
The Trail Blazers have been on a bit of a slump as of late; after recording a four-game winning streak, they’ve lost their last two NBA lines matchups against the Charlotte Bobcats and Atlanta Hawks.
If the Trail Blazers – currently seeded seventh overall in the Western Conference – would like to change their pace and maintain their playoff spot, they will need their star power forward LaMarcus Aldridge to return to form.
Aldridge was on fire during Portland’s four-game winning streak, scoring at least 20 points in each NBA lines match.
During those four games combined, he nearly averaged 50 percent from the field, made 1 of 2 3-point attempts, and recorded 24 rebounds.
In Portland’s two most recent games however, Aldridge shot less than 40 percent from the field, and missing both his 3-point attempts, while turning the ball over four times.
The 6’11” power forward has a decent opportunity to best his most recent performances as he faces an above-average Mavericks defense.
Dallas ranks 10th in overall defense, allowing an average 96.3 points per game this NBA lines season.
The Trail Blazers have an added bonus this Tuesday because they will play against a demoralized Mavericks team that has lost three of its last five games.
Brett’s Prediction: Portland Trail Blazers: 104, Dallas Mavericks: 93
Nielson Notice: LaMarcus Aldridge has averaged 31.5 points per game when playing against the Dallas Mavericks this season.
